Welcome

Our Vision

"To facilitate early assistance with child development for children with a developmental delay, a disability or other additional need, enabling them to reach their optimal potential within a safe and nurturing environment."

Bridges for Learning provides a range of therapy and special education programs for children 0-12 with developmental delays and disabilities and their families. Our staff includes a speech pathologist, occupational therapist, physiotherapist, early childhood intervention teacher, family worker and psychologist. Our programs include working with the family to develop an individual plan for their child.

Our services are delivered by professionals within a positive, fun, caring environment. Parents and carers are provided with ongoing support and resources in order to educate, and nurture the well-being of children and families within our local community.

The early childhood years lay the foundation for all future development. What happens to us in the early years has a major effect on the rest of our lives. Improving the development and functioning of children with special needs reduces the dependence of specialised service later in life.

Bridges for Learning is an established professional facility with quality resources and a supportive environment. Our programs are practical and therapeutic. Their aim is to help your child make progress.

Do you have concerns about your child’s development?

If you have any concerns about your child’s physical, intellectual, social, emotional or language development, contact us and we can discuss the options available to you, your family and your child.

Any parent or carer who is concerned about their child not doing some things as easily as other children their age can phone Bridges for Learning and speak to a member of our staff about their child. You do not need to have a referral. Perhaps a preschool teacher has mentioned a concern relating to your child’s development, or maybe a family member or clinic nurse has suggeted your child should be assessed. Sometimes doctors refer children to our Centre and this is also welcome.

When you contact us, we can discuss the options available for your child. We may recommend an assessment to determine more preceisly what is needed for your child. Our therapists and teachers do the assessments, which are play based and fun for children.
